Back to the Dennis reunion
I finally took Mom back to the Dennis reunion, if only by means of a four-generation picture with her mother Marie Fisher Kidder, grandmother Idell Dennis Fisher, and great-grandmother Rachel Powell Dennis. I have missed this reunion for decades when we lived out of state and when it was held on the same weekend as Dad’s family reunion. It was nice to reconnect and to meet a few of my cousins with whom I’ve communicated about family research. Some of them are also in my DNA match lists.
The Dennis reunion was held this year at Wakefield Park in Morenci, Michigan. Here are a few pictures from yesterday’s gathering:
My grandmother Marie Fisher Kidder Sovereign was born in Morenci in 1908. John and Rachel Dennis are buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Morenci, although not together.
Aunt Amy Bailey took Mom under her wing when Mom’s dad was ailing at the end of this life.
Next year the Dennis reunion will be at Gladwin, Michigan on the last Sunday of July. Two years from now it will be back in Morenci.

Lisa, the Dennis reunion has been alternating between the last Sunday in July and the first Sunday in August in recent years. It has also been alternating between Morenci and central Michigan. I don’t know what the plans are for this year. I’ll try to contact you by email to provide a link to more information.

Lisa, I understand Facebook avoidance. I quit for a year or two at one time but got back on to stay in touch with a few friends and to participate in a small number of useful groups. I’ll send you an email to communicate further.
